Welcome to FUG Facebook Users Group

First of all this Blog and Facebook page http://www.facebook.com/fbusers is in no way connected to Facebook the company, it's unofficial now and always will be.

So why a Facebook Users Group?

After working with Facebook for some time I have come across a number of tricks and also a lot of information on how to get the best out of it. Unfortunately I have also come across a lot of problems, with this group I hope to bring a lot of information together and ultimately make Facebook listen to their users.

Like most people I joined Facebook to connect with my family and friends. I live in Thailand, so Facebook seemed like a good idea. So I joined and connected with them and for the first month I added one or two people a week, people I knew, at that point I had maybe 25 friends.

It didn't need a lot of time I was on Facebook maybe for an hour a week. I then started to find some pages that I liked, I shared some stuff from the web and as a web developer I became interested in integrating Facebook with web pages.

After about six weeks of use I got a friend request from a stranger, I looked at the persons profile and couldn't understand why they wanted to be friends, but what the heck this is social networking after all so I accepted their request.

I then found some groups that interested me and thought maybe it would be good to talk we some of these people so I sent out friend requests to strangers. I didn't know at this time that this was against Facebook's terms and conditions. I still don't understand how you can have a social networking system where networking is not allowed.

So I am now at the point where I have over 600 friends on Facebook and 7 Pages, I have been blocked once for adding strangers !! I see people making the same mistakes over and over and really want to share some knowledge, not just mine but other peoples as well.

So come on join me and make a different.
